On Friday at around midday I did my taxes
online. H & R Block makes it easier every year. Some things are confusing
this time around such as having to click “no” when you “do” want the carbon tax
rebate.
I
had refried beans and salsa with chips for lunch.
I weighed 89 kilos in the afternoon.
I worked on a long poem that’s mostly about
clouds observed during a bike ride.
A sky churning with shapes and contrasts of
mists
What an ingenious way to carry water
around!
Airships made of water high above the
ground
Soft flying clenches of water-filled fists
Alien water thieves wouldn’t have to land their
ships
They could just suck it from the clouds
And take off with millions of pounds
I worked on a story.
I translated a segment of a story by Boris
Vian and part of the screenplay for Les Enfants du Paradis (Children of
paradise” by Jacques Prevert.
It was raining all day.
I’m a bit bored with suddenly no schoolwork
to do.
I had three small potatoes for dinner with
some margarine and watched The Rifleman. This story begins with a peaceful
scene of Lucas and Mark chopping wood together when suddenly there is an Apache
raid. Lucas is clubbed from behind and Mark is kidnapped. It’s a day later when
Lucas wakes up on a bed with Sheriff Micah Torrance there as well as Sam
Buckhart the Apache marshal making his second appearance. Sam explains that a
renegade Apache named Chaqua lost his son last winter and he aims to replace
him with Mark, who is known to the Apache as the son of a brave man. Lucas has
a concussion and is not well enough to travel and so Micah and Sam form a posse
to go after Chaqua. Lucas follows them. Later they get caught in an ambush. One
of the men dies and the rest of the men, except for Lucas, Micah and Sam,
abandon the posse. Lucas collapses and Sam goes ahead by himself. He sneaks up
on Chaqua’s camp but he is captured and tied up. Lucas recovers and follows. He
sneaks up on the camp and way too easily for reality, shoots all of the Apache
raiding party except for Chaqua. He and Chaqua fight and Sam and Mark have to
pull Lucas off to keep him from strangling Chaqua to death.
