On Sunday I got together with Tom Smarda earlier. Then I rehearsed a bit with Mike Martin but we were running late. We picked up Tom on the way to the El Mocambo and when we finally arrived there was a good crowd. Steve, the host of Sedated Sundays had forgotten that Christian and the Lions were supposed to be there. Six people came to see us, including Ejawsay. At the end of the intro to “I Saw My Reflection In An Open Wound” after I sang, “I am the still wet crimson mirror that sits forever at the spiraling centre of the open wound that is the rock and roll night” I smashed a mirror on a blanket that I’d spread out in front of me on stage. I was a little drunk and I couldn’t hear myself sing, so neither could Mike the drummer. It was a little better after I asked Chris the sound person to turn up my monitor but it was a disappointing show in general.
