Air Purifiers Won't Save You From Cigarette Smoke

My cat Amarillo has been gone for a couple of days. Hopefully he’s all right out there.
I didn’t get much done on Tuesday, May 24th because of distractions on the internet.
In the evening I took my bike ride. As I approached Sherbourne and Bloor I saw a big hawk land on the building at the southeast corner. It must have seen something from that perch, because it took off again and flew east before descending into the ravine to look for a tasty mouse, though a frog would do.
Crossing the bridge over Mount Pleasant, the fragrance of lilacs was overwhelming.
I finished exploring all the streets from Broadview to Donlands between Danforth and Mortimer.
On Mortimer I passed something with a base in a long box. I was thinking it might be a standing lamp. When I walked back, someone else was already checking it out. I asked him what it was. He said it was an air filter and I could take it if I wanted. I said I didn’t need it. He declared with a guilty laugh that he was a smoker and he could always use another one. Apparently those air purifiers not only don’t eliminate the toxic gasses in cigarette smoke, but they also release toxic gasses of their own such as ozone.

At Freshco, a woman ahead of me in one of the lines said hello to another woman she knew who was standing in the express line-up. She told her, “I want to hug you! I love you!”
