I played my Martin acoustic during song practice for the last of four sessions and it went out of tune a few times but not to a frustrating degree.
I weighed 86.95 kilos before breakfast.
Around midday used drywall compound to fill the cracks in my round mirror frame. I applied it with my finger to make sure the cracks were filled. On Friday I’ll sand it and then see if it’s ready to prime or if I need more drywall compound.
I weighed 87.5 kilos before lunch. I had saltines with five-year-old cheddar and a glass of iced tea.
In the afternoon I took a bike ride downtown and back.
I chatted with David, who panhandles in front of my building. At first glance in the time that I’ve known him he looks like he’s fatter than he is. He has some kind of growth in his stomach that look s like he’s carrying a basketball under his shirt. I asked him about it and he says it’s a hernia. He says he’d have to change his lifestyle in order to prepare for surgery and so he’s resigned himself to living with the lump.
I weighed 86.85 kilos at 17:43.
I was caught up in my journal at 18:18.
I almost forgot to buy beer but remembered around that time and went out to get a six-pack of Creemore.
In the Movie Maker project to create a video for the studio recording of my song “Paranoiac Utopia” I ran through watching it one more time and then published it. Then I ran through the published movie and took several screen shots. Tomorrow I’ll upload it to You Tube.
I reviewed the song practice videos of my performances of “I Love You Neither Do I” and “Je t’aime Moi non plus” from September 12 to 16. On September 12 and 16 I played it on my Martin acoustic but on September 12 the file was corrupted. On September 16 the take at 47:15 was okay. On September 14 I played it on my Gibson Les Paul Studio and the take at 5:15 in part B was okay. On September 13 I played “Je t’aime Moi non plus” on the Gibson and the take at 0:15 in part B was not horrible but the Gibson was rattly. On September 15 I played it on the Martin and the take at 45:45 was okay.
I made pizza on a slice of multigrain sandwich bread with marinara sauce, basil pesto, some oven fries, and five-year-old cheddar. I had it with a beer while watching episode 18 of Checkmate.
A popular comedian named Danny Whitman with a TV show that’s kind of a 60s version of The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight is on a crusade against drunk driving. His target is the wife of a former mobster, Corinne Marsden who recently killed two people while driving under the influence. Her husband Frank is using his influence to keep her out of jail. He doesn’t appreciate the media attention that the comedian is bringing him. Danny has asked the guys from Checkmate to meet him after his show but on the way to the dressing room he is attacked. He is hit but told this is only a warning. Danny’s ring manages to scratch the attacker’s face. He runs when Danny’s wife Mona opens the door and screams. Dr. Hyatt takes the ring for analysis. Hyatt has a beautiful but nerdy lab assistant named Elizabeth Buford. Hyatt somehow figures out from the ring that the assailant has a tan. Don goes looking at spas in San Francisco and finally finds a tanning client with a scratch on his face whose real name is Rawls. On his show Danny jokes that he got his black eye while changing his mind in a revolving door. Frank tells Corinne he’ll protect her but she says she knows she killed two people and she doesn’t care if she goes to jail. Frank sends Rawls to kill Danny but Don and Jed save him and the police kill Rawls. Danny gets an anonymous letter giving him information about bribes paid to witnesses. Hyatt analyzes the type and says it’s from a two year old Lansing portable with a small “b” that doesn’t close. Jed is hanging around outside the courthouse when he sees Corinne’s daughter and Frank’s step daughter Judy drive away. He follows her to a gas station and secretly punctures her tire. Then later comes to the rescue to change it on the road. She likes him and he asks her to lunch but they stop off at her home first where he sees on a desk a grocery list that matches the type of the letter that Danny got. Frank’s man Jim and his chauffeur Victor kidnap Mona and make her call Danny. He goes to meet them. Don sees him getting into a cab and calls the taxi company to find out where it went. It’s just a certain corner in an industrial district. Don calls Jed at Judy’s place. Jed tells Judy who he really is and asks her if Frank has a business there. Corinne has been listening and tells him the exact location. Jim has Frank meet him there and reveals he plans to kill Frank as well and make it look like Danny and Frank killed each other. Don interrupts them. Frank struggles with Jim and shoots him. Don gets Frank to give up.
Mona was played by Joanne Linville, whose film debut was in Copper Canyon. Her TV debut was in Studio One. She played Amy Sinclair on The Guiding Light. She is best remembered for playing an unnamed Romulan commander who is the first female Romulan to ever appear on Star Trek in The Enterprise Incident and who has a romance with Spock. She was Mark Ruffalo’s mentor at the Stella Adler Conservatory where she taught The Power of Language.
