Michelle Forbes

On Friday morning I worked out the chords for the fifth verse of "De velours et de soie" (The Silk and the Velvet) by Boris Vian. There's only one verse left.
I memorized the third verse of "Amour Consolation" by Serge Gainsbourg.
I weighed 84.9 kilos before breakfast.
In the late morning I left to take the long bike ride to The Twelfth Fret on the Danforth almost all the way to Scarborough. It took about an hour but I overshot the store because I somehow had it in my head that it was at 2300 and something. But I didn't see the store and by the time I was at 2400 I had to pee really bad. While locking my bike in front of Sobeys I didn't think I was going to make it but I fought because I thought how embarrassing it would be to piss my pants so far into the east end and especially when I came all that way to go into a guitar shop. I made it into Sobeys and found the washroom in the far back corner. I relieved myself just in time. While unlocking my bike I checked and saw that The Twelfth Fret was at 2132 Danforth so I rode back west to Woodbine.
The Twelfth Fret keeps the front door locked and I had to buzz to get in. I wonder if they had that system set up before covid. It's an extremely high end store with most of the guitars above $2000 and at least one with a five figure price tag. I checked out a burnt red Guild for $1200 but it sounded too twangy for me. I noticed though what looked like the exact same kind of Martin that I played yesterday at Steve's, but this one was for $899 whereas the one at Steve's was $1199. I hadn't checked out the specific name of Martin the one at Steve's was but this was called a Road Series. I played it and it sounded exactly the same.
I rode back downtown and while waiting to cross Yonge, some guy came up behind me and moved my backpack as he was crossing the street. He was dressed like he was on his way to a mosque. He said something to me in another language as he passed. His friend who was dressed the same way laughed at what he'd said.
I stopped at Steve's where I went to the back and found they had the exact same guitar that I'd just played at The Twelfth Fret. I mentioned it to the guy behind the guitar desk, who was chatting with Connor, who'd sold me my Scarlett Interface last year. I told the desk guy about the difference in price at The Twelfth Fret and he said that he could call them to confirm and if the Road Series they are selling is new he would absolutely match the price. He said they don't have big sales and they don't do Black Friday but they always try to have the best prices in town and always price match on the same products. That was good news. I told him I was still shopping around but might get back to him about the price matching.
When I got home I emailed The Twelfth Fret to ask if the Road Series they are selling is new and a guy named Brian got back to me to confirm that it's brand new. I have four more places to check out but if the Road Series is the best one I will have saved myself another long bike ride with price matching. It pays to shop around because it might have saved me $300.
I weighed 83.7 kilos at 14:30, which is the lightest I've been at that time in seventeen days.
            I took a siesta from 15:12 to 16:47.
            I weighed 84.2 kilos at 16:45.
I was caught up on my journal at 18:15.
I uploaded the July 7, 2022 video of me playing "Joanna" to YouTube.

I imported the audio recording of my June 18, 2022 song practice in Audacity and increased the volume. I imported the video and audio of my June 18, 2022 song practice into Movie Maker and started a project. I was able to load the video into the timeline but the program wouldn't let me load the audio until I shut down Movie Maker and restarted it.
In the Movie Maker project for my song Instructions for Electroshock Therapy I cut the video clips from the silent film "Way Down East" from one minute down to thirty seconds. I only need about seven seconds and so I'll edit some more out tomorrow.
I cleaned two more negatives but only had time to fully scan one of them. Both are damaged but have some good frames of some experimental shots I took of my ex-girlfriend Brenda, probably in 1987. The second strip suddenly started looking faded in the scanner because I'd clicked something I shouldn't have and then after a while I think I got it back but then the scanner was full. I'll have to upload the images tomorrow before I can do anymore scanning.
I had a potato with gravy and three pork ribs while watching season 3, episode 5 of Star Trek Picard.
The story begins with Jack Crusher walking onto the bridge of the Titan and killing everyone. But it turns out to be just a vision he's having.
Riker returns command of the Titan to Smith. Smith says Starfleet is on the way and tells Picard, Riker, and Seven to get their story straight. The Intrepid arrives and they meet Investigator Ro Laren, who used to be under Picard's command but betrayed him. Ro tells Picard and Riker they are being investigated for treason. Picard has asked Seven to hide Jack from Starfleet. She gives him a Starfleet uniform so he can hide in plain sight.
Meanwhile Worf's handler has denied him and Raffi access to Daystrom Station. Worf says now that Sneed is dead they need to contact a Vulcan gangster named Krinn who may be able to get them into Daystrom. They are captured by Krinn on M'talas. Krinn forces Worf and Raffi to fight to the death in a knife battle. Raffi kills Worf, but obviously not really since he's a major character and the death is too quick. After they drag Worf's body away Worf comes up behind Krinn with a knife to his throat. Worf explains that he's learned how to stop his own heart. They get the information they need to break into Daystrom.
Beverly does an autopsy on the Changeling that Seven killed. Unlike normal Changelings it has not reverted to its natural liquid state upon dying. Also unlike ordinary Changelings it has not only copied the outer form of Commander LaForge but it has copied the internal organs and the blood, which explains how they were able to infiltrate the ship so easily.
Ro is interviewing Picard and he suggests she might be a Changeling. She cuts herself to prove otherwise. He asks how she got back into Starfleet. She says after her time with the Makis she turned herself in and was sent to prison. She was recruited by Starfleet Intelligence. She points a phaser at Picard and says, "Let's step into the holodeck". In the hologram of the bar, Picard goes behind the bar to get them drinks and retrieves Guinan's hidden gun. They have a standoff and an emotional exchange about their past relationship and then each realizes the other can't be a Changeling and they put their weapons down. Ro tells Picard that Starfleet is compromised and has been infiltrated at the highest levels by Changelings. There are also Changelings aboard the Intrepid. She puts something into Picard's hand and tells him to run, then she leaves with the two officers that accompanied her aboard.
On the shuttle back to the Intrepid her officers plant a bomb and beam off. She contacts Picard but transporters are being inhibited. She flies the shuttle into the Intrepid and it explodes an unpopulated section of the ship. The Intrepid powers weapons to attack the Titan. Shaw is convinced to run and the Titan goes to warp just as the Intrepid fires.
Four Changelings try to capture Jack and something shifts in his mind, he has a vision of a red door like last time, then suddenly goes full Jason Bourne, taking them all out with ease, and it seems without even knowing what he is doing.
Picard shows Riker that Ro gave him Ro's Bajoran earring. Riker immediately knows that it contains something and downloads the holographic contents. It contains her entire investigation of Starfleet's infiltration. While they are looking at it there is an incoming transmission on Ro's secret channel, and it's from Worf. He's surprised to see Picard and Riker, since he is trying to contact Ro.
Meanwhile Beverly confronts her son. Jack tells her that there is something very wrong with him.
Ro Laren was played by Michelle Forbes, who played the dual roles of Solita and Sonni Carrera on the soap opera The Guiding Light. She played Kate Weston on In Treatment. She played Dr. Pen Verity on Durham County. She played Ellen Becker on Treadstone. She played Susan Metcalf on Messiah. She co-starred on Berlin Station. She co-starred in Swimming with Sharks. After Star Trek the Next Generation she was invited to continue playing Ro Laren on Deep Space Nine but she turned it down. Because of this the new Bajoran character of Kira Nerys was created and played by Nana Visitor.

I reached 49 days without finding a bedbug. That matches the record from when I saw the first one in early June of 2021. If I don't find any tomorrow night then I'll stop doing these detailed searches every night before bed and cautiously declare the infestation over.
