November 1, 1995: I dedicated my song to Nedra but my guitar was out of tune

Thirty years ago today

On Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:30 I posed for Chris’s class in room 302 at Central Technical School. After work I went down to Gwartzman’s at Spadina and College to buy a new hardcover sketch book for writing. From there I went to the Stewart Building to pose for Diane Pugen’s class from 13:00 to 19:00. After work I went to the Fat Albert’s open stage but my number was too high for me to want to stick around. Rob Siciliano was in the same boat and so we left together to go to the Art Bar reading series at the Csarda Hungarian restaurant on Elm Street. Nedra Rodrego and Peter Fruchter were already there. I sang my poem “The Next State of Grace” and dedicated it to Nedra but somehow my guitar was dreadfully out of tune and it was very embarrassing. Afterwards we all went for coffee at the 24 hour Second Cup on Yonge Street.
