Thirty years ago today
On Thursday I learned that my band Christian and the Lions didn’t make it into the Hard Rock Café band competition. But when I posed that night at Central Technical School I talked with the instructor and found out that she plays with a band called Smilin Ben that would be playing on February 28. After work I went over to Lee’s Palace and talked to Craig the booking agent. He gave me a date for Christian and the Lions to play there and gave me the number of the other band so we could work out which of us would go on first. I called the guy and found out that they were considering cancelling the gig, so we might be doing the show alone.
