Thirty years ago today
On Monday evening I was getting ready to go downtown to the Crickets open stage when I heard a strange scratching at my door. It was followed by the sound of someone climbing the basement stairs and closing the door. I opened my door and found an envelope with $25 inside and a note from Angeline. I ran down the street and caught up with her on Queen but she was very depressed and didn’t want to talk. All she said was that she’d just gotten her hair cut and felt ugly, then she walked away. I went to Crickets and performed two of my songs. Mary Milne drove me home and came in for tea.
