Thirty years ago today
On Thursday Rocky Capano had Tom Smarda and me come into the studio to help him record his album. Rocky handed me a lyric sheet and I practically had to write the song for him as I made up a melody while the studio musicians improvised. It was great working with professional musicians like Cozi Boo Boo the drummer who told everyone to watch me and follow. There was also a guitarist but I found him a bit too metal for my taste. After doing Rocky’s song I got to do my song “Me and Gravity” with Tom and them backing me up.
That night I went to the Armchair reading series and Yehudah Cullman was there.
