Lyle Talbot

On Wednesday morning I woke up at 3:00 and realized that an Acadieman comic strip I've seen about pissing in the pool is really a metaphor for corrupting French. Now I think I know what my essay thesis will be. This is my translation:

I memorized the first verse of "Trompe d’érection" (Missed Erection) by Serge Gainsbourg.
I weighed 84.3 kilos before breakfast, which is the lightest I've been in the morning in eleven days.
I had time to eat breakfast and left at 10:15. I was still in front of the classroom too early and so next time I'll try 10:20.
Englishes and ideologies in old and new media with old and new examples.
What to expect from disseminating language ideologies in old media.
A lot of people picked up on African American slang and slang in general online.
            Gretchen McCulloch wrote Because Internet
Accents in music like when punk singers imitated British accents and everybody who does rock and roll trying to sound like they are from the southern United States. I've also noticed hip-hop and slam artists with Canadian talking voices who rap with United States inner-city accents.
"Ain't" entered the dictionary in 1961.
Some say one can't pick up an accent from only listening but maybe you can.
The best call centre accent is considered to be Scots because they sound intelligent and friendly.
Indexicality is the stereotype of accents.
In K-pop and J-pop lyrics English words represent more modern subjects.
            English is used instrumentally.
Hong Kong drug dealers speaking English in movies.
            Acci-internet giant corpus.
"lol" is now sometimes pronounced as one word.
Stereotypes that texting is done by stupid young girls.
            Dentally replying to alliteration.
Speech is time-bound while writing is space bound.
English gaming lingo vs French Academy.
            Alexa can't recognize some accents.
Snooty call instead of booty call.

For lunch, I had saltines with five-year-old cheddar and a glass of limeade.
I weighed 84.1 kilos at 17:00. That's the lowest at that time in two weeks.
I finished editing yesterday's and today's lecture notes and was caught up on my journal at 19:10.
I finished re-reading Lanval by Marie de France. If the genders were switched it would be extremely creepy for a lady to be approached by two strange men who say that their boss has had her under surveillance from fairyland and wants them to escort her to him now.
I looked for de France's Fables and downloaded a few texts. I think most of her fables were her translations of Aesop. I don't know if the texts I downloaded are what I need, since I don't have access to Broadview online without paying for it. I'll read what I got. I think her Fables are available at the U of T library, but since we never even know if we'll be spending any time on a text in class it hardly seems worth it to go there and take them out. If they were a major part of the course I would.
I made pizza on a slice of Bavarian sandwich bread with Basilica sauce and five-year-old cheddar. I had it with a beer while watching episode 12 of The Beverly Hillbillies.
Because Sonny Drysdale ran away after courting Elly May, that's grounds for feuding for the Clampetts, especially for Granny. They take their guns and go over to the Drysdale place but only the servants are there.
Jed decides to go see Mr. Drysdale at the bank and Jethro drives him there. But when Jed sees that Jethro has brought a rifle with him, he takes it away from him and carries it into the bank. Before Drysdale sees him Jed is arrested. The psychiatrists are having a field day with Jed in his cell because he's saying he has $25 million in Drysdale's bank.
When Jethro tells Granny that Jed's been captured they go and capture Drysdale's butler. Drysdale gets Jed out of jail and brings him home but when Drysdale goes to the gate Granny shoots at him. Drysdale and Jed go to the Drysdale house and Granny and the kids go there to rescue Jed.
Jed takes Elly's gun away and tells her that Drysdale says he's going to make Sonny marry her but Elly says she doesn't want to. Then Granny finds out that Drysdale's family is from Tennessee and everything is fine until he says his mother was a Bodkin and they feuded with the Moses family for years. Granny's last name is Moses and so Drysdale has to run as she commences to shoot at him.
One of the psychiatrists was played by Lyle Talbot, who joined a traveling tent show right after high school and became a magician-hypnotist's assistant. He worked his way up to magician. He then moved on to stock theatre and toured throughout the Midwest. He signed with Warner Brothers in 1932 and started working in movies. He co-starred in "One Night of Love" in 1934. He supported Mae West in "Go West Young Man" in 1936. He was one of the founders of the Screen Actor's Guild and was the first actor at Warner Brothers to join the union. He was the first actor to play Commissioner Gordon in the 1950 Batman serials and also the first to play Lex Luthor in "Superman vs Atom Man". He appeared in several Ed Wood films, including "Plan 9 from Outer Space". On television, he played Ozzie Nelson's friend Joe Randolph and Bob's former air force buddy, on the Bob Cummings Show.

For the sixth night in a row, I found no bedbugs.
